Sporting Club Sports Awards Gala 2025: A Night to Remember at the Royal Lancaster

WHAT A NIGHT!

The Sporting Club Sports Awards Gala Dinner returned in spectacular style last Thursday at the Royal Lancaster London Hotel, marking the sixth staging of our flagship event — and it may well have been our most memorable yet.

The room was packed with stars from the worlds of sport, entertainment and business, alongside Sporting Club members, clients, friends and families, all enjoying a superb drinks reception, sumptuous dinner and an electric atmosphere. Over the course of the evening, ten awards were presented by ten high-profile presenters to ten outstanding winners, celebrating excellence, inspiration and impact across the sporting world.

Entertainment on the night was unforgettable. Steve Davis and Dennis Taylor recreated the dramatic final moments of their iconic 1985 World Snooker Championship black-ball finish, while Darren Farley delivered pitch-perfect impressions and Zinzan Brooke brought the room to a standstill with a powerful haka. The evening flowed seamlessly into a vibrant after-party, soundtracked by DJ Tony Perry, rounding off a truly special occasion.

Making a Real Impact

Beyond the glitz and glamour, the night delivered something even more important: impact. Thanks to an outstanding auction led by Richard Madley and a deeply moving contribution from EB sufferer Qassim, the evening raised an incredible £50,000 for DEBRA UK. This brings the total funds raised for charity at Sporting Club events to £2.9 million — and counting.

Huge thanks go to all our sponsors, with particular appreciation for Headline Sponsor Performant by Collaborative Elements, as well as our award sponsors, presenters and winners. Special thanks also to Steve Davis, Dennis Taylor, Zinzan Brooke, Darren Farley and Tony Perry for creating so much joy and entertainment on the night.

Finally, a massive thank you to The Sporting Club team — Emma Brassington, Tina Thomas, Alejandro Rodríguez Undurraga, Lois Spencer-Tracey, Tapan Bhatt — alongside Graham Treglown, whose combined efforts ensured the night was one that will live long in the memory.

📅 Save the date: The Sporting Club Sports Awards Gala Dinner returns on 10th December 2026.
